Jon and Caroline met and married at Birmingham University. They have two grown-up children Emma (solicitor) and James (pharmacist). After qualifying in 1981 they worked as associates in a large group practice before founding the South Cave practice in 1984. Jon is happiest working with crowns, bridges and veneers whilst Caroline enjoys all aspects of family dental care including orthodontics. Away from the practice Jon is a keen fly-fisherman and is in his fifth year of study with The Open University working towards a degree in Literature. Caroline enjoys visits to the gym, swimming and travel abroad.

Simon is the practices' senior associate having joined us in 1999. Simon qualified from Sheffield University in 1975 and for many years ran a large and successful family practice of his own in York. He is interested in all aspects of dentistry, particularly motivational and preventive techniques and brings a wealth of experience to the job. His main interest outside dentistry is running and he has completed the London marathon in ridiculously fast times for the last seven years. He is also a keen gardener and is rumoured to cook the finest paella in all Yorkshire!

Lou qualified from Liverpool University in 1997 and has been a valued member of the team for the past four years. She is married and has a young son Billy. Her dedication to her family is reflected in her professional life as she is committed to the provision of quality dentistry for all the family. Away from the practice Louise is a keen walker and cyclist.

Chris was in the same year as Jon and Caroline and graduated from Birmingham University in 1980. Chris is our orthodontic expert and limits his dentistry exclusively to that specialty. He liaises closely with our local hospital orthodontic consultants with whom he enjoys a good reputation. Chris is only contracted to perform a limited number of cases per year, so places on his clinics are unfortunately limited. Away from dentistry Chris's hobbies include Narrow Boats, Dutch Barges and running.

Mette joined the practice in April 2007 and is a graduate of Copenhagen University. She has worked in a team-based prevention orientated private Danish practice, which held many shared values to our own in South Cave. Her professional interests include all aspects of aesthetic dentistry as well as minor oral surgery. Away from work Mette's interests include sports, cinema and travel.

Dominic joined us in August 2008 after successfully completing his postgraduate vocational training. He trained at the Leeds Dental Institute where he held an exemplary academic record. Dominic has a wide variety of interests outside dentistry including playing football, golf and still-life pencil drawings.

Steve does a late evening clinic on a Tuesday which many people find useful if work commitments prevent attendance during the day. Steve qualified from Newcastle University in 1987 and has a wide range of experience having worked both in private practice and the Community Dental Service. A family man, Steve's hobbies include squash, gardening and trampolining.

Petra started working with us in June 2009 and is proving an energetic and enthusiastic member of the team. Petra qualified from the Leeds Dental Institute in 2005 and is well versed in the latest restorative and preventive techniques. Away from work she enjoys reading, cooking and snowboarding.

Natalie is the latest addition to our team of dentists, joining us at the start of July 2009. Another graduate from the Leeds Dental Institute (Class of 1998) Natalie is a busy working Mum with two young children. She currently works for us just one day a week on a Wednesday. Natalie’s hobbies include singing with the all ladies harmony group The Abbey Belles Chorus.
