For the benefit of all our patients and to give the highest possible standards to our patients, we have invested THIS YEAR over £45,000 in additional equipment to aid in cross infection control. We are continually looking at new ways of working to maintain our high standards and care for our patients.

We are delighted to announce that the first dental implant cases will take place at our dental surgeries this April. We are working alongside Dr. Robert Glover who specialises in complicated cosmetic cases and has a vast amount of experience in the implant field. He has agreed to carry out treatment at our surgeries for the benefit of our patients.

We  are two days into the start of our new text messaging service to remind our patients of their appointments, and we have received very favourable feedback already about this useful service. If you haven’t already,please give us your mobile phone number and you will be included in receiving text reminders for your dental appointments

At the start of 2010 we will be introducing a new service to remind patients of their dental appointments. If you have not already done so please e-mail us your mobile phone number so that you can benefit from this service. A text message will then be sent to your mobile reminding you of your dental appointment shortly before your appointment is due.

A very Happy New Year to all our patients.We will continue to try and provide an excellent standard of care to all our patients and we aim to continually evolve to provide new services to give the best quality care.

Within the next few weeks we hope to have a new telephone system installed with multiple lines and a ‘call waiting’ facility which will enable easier and faster access to reception. Many of you have told us of the difficulty you experience in getting through to us particularly early in the mornings. We do listen and hope this will improve your experience when contacting the practice.  We will be engaged but the lines won’t be!

Please be advised that from the 1st of January 2010 we will no longer be accepting cheques as a method of payment. More and more establishments as you will be aware, are moving towards eradicating this old-fashioned, expensive and cumbersome method. Cash will still be accepted and the good news is that we are dropping the 50p transaction charge that formerly applied to all credit and debit cards.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded additional funding which will enable us to increase access for new NHS patients. We have also decided to invest a significant capital sum to provide improved facilities for all our patients. We have again increased the size of the waiting areas and added a fifth surgery. The building work is now almost complete and we apologise for any disruption that has necessarily been in evidence over the past few weeks.

On the personnel front we have managed to rope the ever popular Dr Steve Foley into working an extra day. We are also delighted to welcome two new dentists to the team Dr Petra Kocianova  and Dr Natalie Thom. Both qualified from Leeds and have a number of years experience working in General Practice behind them and look forward to providing high quality family dental care at South Cave.

Well spring is sprung and if you have time to enjoy the spring sunshine make the most of it! We marked our year end with a trip out after work for bowling and burgers. A good time was had by all and Kate Blackmore and Steve Foley showed the others how to knock pins down. Over the next three months we will be having a considerable revamp of the building and surgeries so we hope you will be patient whilst these changes are made. We hope to carry on working throughout and to keep disruptions to a minimum. We think, and hope you do too, that the results will be a big improvement and well worth the effort. Remember to brush after those Easter eggs!!
